An Award Winning Royal Feast at Fino Seppeltsfield

November 10, 2015

A visual and literal feast of regional proportions for Royal visit to award-winning FINO’s Seppeltsfield outpost.

Their Royal Highnesses the Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall will today enjoyed a mouth-watering SA showcase of hand-picked, home-grown artisans and artists at the revitalized Seppeltsfield ‘Food, Wine & Art Paradise’. Home to iconic progressive regional dining brand FINO and South Australian arts & craft bastion Jam Factory, Seppeltsfield village has become home base for all things culinary, creative and exceptionally South Australian.

FINO Directors and regional dining visionaries, Sharon Romeo and David Swain barely had time to catch their breath after last night’s SA Advertiser Food Awards win for Best New Restaurant, before stripping the restaurant bare to offer a stunningly minimalist backdrop for tables laden with names synonymous with SA produce such as Maggie Beer, Haighs, Laucke and Tuckers and as well as tanks filled with live Coffin Bay oysters and Southern Ocean crayfish.

VIP guests were treated to a typically FINO-esque menu brimming with beautiful, regionally-sourced, seasonally pristine produce.  Chefs David Swain and Sam Smith offered the following fare;

Light Luncheon

Spencer Gulf prawns, cucumber, Coorong Mulloway fish floss and oak lettuce

Barossa Heritage Pork chorizo, Domenico Torzi Kalamata olives, toasted buckwheat and pickled chilli

Slow cooked Hutton Vale lamb shoulder, Farmer Hayden’s carrots and K.I. sheep’s milk yoghurt

Canapes

Cold smoked Hiramasa kingfish, sprouted Four Leaf rye grains and pickled onion.

Seared Paroo Kangaroo, Kolophon capers and Riverland walnuts

Yorke Peninsula chickpea falafel, K.I. sheep’s milk yoghurt

Mayura Station Wagyu, samphire and radish

Barossa Birds chicken bistilla
